National Examination for Psychologists
National Examination refers to the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP), administered by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB) and approved for use in Nevada by the Board (NRS 641.0243).
Psychological Assistant (Provisional Licensure)
A Psychological Assistant is an individual who has been provisionally licensed with the Board and seeks to obtain postdoctoral supervised experience required for licensure as a psychologist (NAC 641.080) by submitting the appropriate application to the Board.
Eligibility
Unless otherwise approved by the Board, an applicant may apply for provisional licensure as a Psychological Assistant only after earning a doctoral degree from:

A training program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) or a program deemed substantially equivalent (NAC 641.061); or
-
An institution meeting the requirements of subsection 3 of NAC 641.050.
Provisional Licensure as a Psychological Assistant is valid for three years, unless otherwise approved by the Board.

Practice of Psychology
The practice of psychology includes the observation, description, evaluation, interpretation, or modification of human behavior using psychological principles, methods, or procedures to prevent or address problematic, unhealthy, or undesired behavior and to promote personal relationships, behavioral, and mental health (NRS 641.025).
This includes, but is not limited to:

Psychological testing and evaluation of personal characteristics (intelligence, personality, abilities, interests, aptitudes, neuropsychological function)

Counseling and psychotherapy, including psychoanalysis, hypnosis, and biofeedback

Analysis and therapy related to behavior

Diagnosis and treatment of mental or emotional disorders, alcoholism, and substance use disorders, including conduct or habit disorders

Psychological aspects of physical injury, illness, accident, or disability

Evaluation, therapy, remediation, and consultation relating to academic performance
