License Renewal Information

The Renewal Period for the 2027-2028 Biennium is now OPEN

For ACTIVE licensure renewal:

The renewal fee is $650.  To renew your active Psychologist license, you can either:

  • Login to the Board's Online Renewal Portal, or
  • Complete the Board's 2027-2028 Biennium Renewal Form and either mail it to the Board office with a check for the $650 renewal fee or email it to the Board office with a request for an online payment link (there is an additional fee for online payments).

* Please allow 10–14 business days for processing during the renewal period. Due to the high volume of renewals, the Board office will not provide individual confirmation of receipt of renewal documents. Active licensees will receive an updated renewal sticker by U.S. Mail once their renewal has been processed.

For INACTIVE licensure renewal:

To renew your inactive Psychologist license or to put your active license on inactive status, you can either: 

  • Login to the Board's Online Renewal Portal, or
  • Complete the Board's 2027-2028 Biennium Inactive Renewal Form and either mail it to the Board office with a check for the $100 renewal fee or email it to the Board office with a request for an online payment link (there is an additional fee for online payments).

** PLEASE NOTE:  If you renew your license as inactive, you will be unable to apply to reactivate your license until after March 1, 2027.

Important Information for renewals:
  • The renewal forms and fee MUST be postmarked or received by the Board office on or before December 31, 2026.
  • Renewal documents postmarked or received after December 31, 2026, will be considered late and require a $200 late fee to complete renewal.
  • If you would like verification of the Board office's receipt of renewal documents that are mailed, the Board recommends sending those materials with a tracking number.
  • The Board office operates with very limited staff and is much busier than usual during the license renewal period.  As a result, notification of receipt of renewal documents will be limited to Active renewals by way of the updated renewal sticker that the Board office will send via U.S. Mail to the address it has on file for each licensee.
  • If mailed renewal documents are returned to the sender, it could be marked late if received complete after December 31, 2026.
  • For Active license renewals:
    • For those licensed prior to January 1, 2025, renewals will not be considered complete without the required CEUs and renewal fee.  Those who were licensed between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2026, are not required to provide proof of continuing education credits.  For information on continuing education required for renewal, please see the Board's continuing education requirements below.
    • Continuing Education audit:  If you are selected as part of the random audit of renewal materials, please provide proof of all CEUs completed.  Continuing education must have been completed during the current biennium (January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2026) for renewal for the next biennium (January 1, 2027 - December 31, 2028).
    • If you renew your license during the late renewal period (January 1, 2027 - March 1, 2027), your license will be put on inactive status as of January 1, 2027, until your completed renewal documents are received.

Continuing Education Requirements:

Please Note:  As stated above, those who were licensed between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2026, are not required to provide proof of continuing education credits.

For those licensed prior to January 1, 2025:  To renew your active license for the 2027-2028 biennium, you are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education pursuant to the revised version of NAC 641.136, as follows:

  • At least 6 hours of instruction in scientific and professional ethics and standards, and common areas of professional misconduct. 
  • At least 2 hours of instruction in evidence-based suicide prevention and awareness.
  • At least 6 hours of instruction relating to cultural competency and diversity, equity, and inclusion.  For more information on what constitutes instruction relating to cultural competency and diversity, equity, and inclusion, please see NRS 641.220(4)(b).
  • Not more than 15 hours of approved continuing professional development.  For more information on satisfying continuing education requirements by way of continuing professional development , please see the Board's Memorandum on Continuing Professional Development.

** At least 15 hours of continuing education instruction must be live/face-to-face.  The Board will not apply more than 15 hours of home study instruction toward the continuing education requirements for renewal.
